FOS as an ingredient for various food applications is allowed by FSSAI. The globally accepted tolerable upper limit of FOS is 20gms/day, which is the tolerable upper level of FOS. Studies have shown that 10 – 15g intakes per day are well tolerated.
Studies with intervention of FOSSENCE® has been pursued with an intake of 10 – 15 g/d with no side effects. However, excessive intake may lead to side effects of gastric intolerance such as bloating and flatulence.
